I was jus wondering what octane of gas i should run in my 2002 suzuki rm 85. I jus bought it and i say i should run premium but my mom said that i should run regular so of course her bein the bitch she is we got regular and now its runnin sluggish.. So was i right, does it need premium? I bought it from my friend and he raced it and when i bought it, it had premium and it ran fine but now its not so yea.

Well the minimum you should run is 93 pump. If its stock that should be fine. Now if its bored, ported or you want it to run VERY crisp I would say 100 octane would be better. I can't keep up with all the different fuels nowadays but make sure your jetting is all setup. Plug should be nice n' golden brown. Use yamaha lube R 4ozs per gallon of fuel when mixing.
Thats what I think but I'm sure someone might have another solution 4 u.

it's all in how it's jetted if ask your friend , usually when you race , the jet and the power reeds are changes first... either way i never run low-grade pump gas ... if you have to use pumpgass sepnd the extra 50 cents per gallon ( what do you buy 5 gallons at a time that's 2.50 ) for the best ...
